About

Everything you were taught can be put into a few words:

      Respect and obey God!

This is what life is all about.   (Ecclesiastes 12:13 CEV)

Technology

I have eight years of experience in system administration and programming. I understand the needs of organizations, both large and small. I am proficient in the deployment of desktops, servers, networking equipment, and Internet-based technologies, and I will design a solution to meet your needs.

Some of the experiences I have accumulated, include:

  • development of an employee management web application (job applications, communication)
  • development of call center web application (fundraising & survey scripts, completion percentage, database, & tracking)
  • management of windows servers and network for mid-sized company (database, web, file, and application servers)
  • windows desktop support for 200 employees
  • advanced windows, linux, and network troubleshooting for large datacenter (second-level call center support)
  • development of business continuity plans (windows and unix servers, in case of hurricane, etc…)
  • management of backups for hundreds of servers (backup client and server, policy, administration)
  • advanced unix administration for hundreds of servers (web, application, database, and especially dns servers)
  • development of multi-site dns management system (multisite anycast multiple slave, multiple master, bind9 dns farm pulling zones from three data sources)
  • development of wireless connectivity for small and medium-sized organizations
  • perl and php software development, databases, and other common technologies

Ministry

I have had the opportunity to serve in various ministry roles.  I believe that this gives me a functional understanding of what churches need and how technology can be used (or avoided) to maximize effectiveness.  It has taken quite some time for me to learn that more technology doesn’t always result in more effective ministry. I will lean on my own experiences in ministry and yours as we craft a suitable solution for your organization.

Even as a student, I led regular Bible studies and continue to do so today.  Discussion groups are great, but my real passion is for in-depth study of God’s word.  I have been blessed with the opportunity to lead discussions for groups of all ages.

I spent a number of years assisting the youth group in my home church as a volunteer in the years following my return from college.  Though I was still attending some classes online, I enjoyed working with the students.  We got to socialize, study the Bible, and go out on special events.   In some cases I was the organizer of the event, while at other times I simply supported another leader.  Later, I was able to step into the role of Youth Minister for a period of about one year.  This was a very rewarding experience for both myself and the students that participated in this ministry.

Having the mind of an administrator has led me to get involved in many technical and procedural aspects of ministry.  I’m heavily involved with the computer, website, and audio/visual operations at my current congregation and did many of these same things at my home church when I was a student.  I have also had the opportunity to assist with some of the business aspects of church management including some policy drafts and event organization.

I am presently enrolled at Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary in the Master of Divinity program.  This is one of the only fully-online M. Div. programs in the United States offered by an accredited brick-and-mortar university.  The courses have been challenging and rewarding, and look forward to all of the new opportunities that God may bring my way.

Business

I created Electronic Christian Counseling (ECC) to provide additional income for my family as I’m enrolled full-time at Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary.  My chief business objective is to provide technology support for churches and small businesses in such a way that God’s name is glorified both in the marketplace and through the activities of this company and its customers.

ECC is company which derives its name from Ecclesiastes 12. In this chapter, the preacher brings to a close his evaluation of all that happens on Earth and draws the following conclusion:

The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.

The “fear of God” is the honor and respect which comes as a result of the realization of that God is mighty and holy; He alone is worthy. We honor God by keeping his commands, and this is the whole purpose of mankind.

It is with this in mind, that ECC is committed to offer honest technology services to those who need some assistance. Even our email address (contact@ecc12.com) is a constant reminder of our purpose.

Whether your church secretary needs her email fixed or you are a small business just getting started, you will always get fair treatment here.
